I’ve seen a fun trend around the Internet this Halloween – Pineapple Jack O Lanterns. I actually got my inspiration from Victoria at A Subtle Revelry. I have to say, she did a much better job than me! Really. Check out her pineapple. I’m not that great at carving but I thought this was such a fun idea. I had to try my hand at it.
While Victoria’s pineapple looks like a menacing jack o lantern, mine looks a little down trodden. I think he has too much stress in his pineapple life. It’s as if he is Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh saying, “Oh bother.” Anyway, he is kinda cute and it was fun to make him.
I had great ambitions with this one. My original intent was to make a stop motion of him as he was created. I even rearranged the furniture to make a nice little set up for photographing it. But, you know, have I mentioned that I’m new at this? I guess it’s going to take a lot of trial and error as I get my blog to where I want it to be. Alas, there is no stop motion success here but I did include a series of pictures. I hope this inspires you for tomorrow!
Happy Halloween Eve!
This is such a cute idea!
I can’t explain it, but when I look at the last two photos – in the second to last photo he looks like he is trying to be happy but with a great sadness in his eyes, but then in the last he is, as you said, channeling Eeyore. That is one expressive pineapple!

It was so fun and it definitely smelled much better than carving a pumpkin. I would say it was just as messy, if not messier, though 🙂
